A water heater can become very costly if starts to malfunction frequently.
It can lead to a lot of issues that many of us could be unsure of how to deal with. As a business owner when this happens your first reaction might be to just call a plumber and have them come and look at it.
The reality is there are a lot of repairs you can make yourself, to ensure your water heater continues to work.
These Simple Repairs Can Go A Long Way
If you are finding that there is no hot water coming from the faucets in your building, you should first check the pilot. It may have gone out, in which case you could relight it and let it get back to work.
Another common issue with the water heater is a rotten egg smell coming from it or the faucets.
This may be caused by bacteria built up so go ahead and flush it out and depending on your water heater brand, create a cleaning solution for it and let it sit inside it for a few hours before refilling it.
Lastly, there’s the common problem of a low rumbling from the bottom of the tank.
What causes this is the buildup of sediment, which in turn causes the tank to overheat and the water to start to boil. Much like getting rid of the rotten smell, all you have to do is flush the water heater.
If these tips do not help and your issues persist, please contact a plumber immediately.
